Coaching philosophy

As an individual and couples coach at Oakland Psych, Dan Jedynak is deeply inspired by the intricacies of our inner worlds and possesses an infinite curiosity for exploring them. He believes that if the most vulnerable aspects of ourselves received even a slight increase in care and compassion, it could lead to a significant liberation in being our true selves. After undergoing two career shifts within the corporate sector, Dan came to the realization that his sense of fulfillment stemmed not just from achievements, but also from nurturing profound, authentic connections both within himself and with others in his life. He deepened his body and inner awareness through engaging with Hakomi somatic mindfulness, a modality that helped him foster intimacy with himself and the world around him. In his professional practice, Dan offers somatic-based individual and couples coaching, focusing on enhancing communication and uncovering the hidden reservoir of love in relationships. He has a unique approach to handling sensitive conversations, striving to create more connection rather than disconnection. His couples coaching is shaped by his training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and PACT, as well as ongoing training as a marriage and family therapist, and he brings expertise on both monogamous and non-monogamous relationships, catering to couples with diverse relationship dynamics.

"Dan Jedynak stands out as an extraordinary coach, adept at empowering both individuals and couples to unearth and actualize profound goals and aspirations. His approach skillfully navigates the delicate balance of guiding and empowering, thereby enabling his clients to forge significant and lasting transformation. Dan's expertise, deeply rooted in trauma-informed and somatic-focused methodologies, expertly meshes with the psychotherapeutic techniques of Oakland Psych. This synergy has proven particularly effective in our collaborative client support, underscoring why Dan's skillset is an invaluable component of our offerings." — Dr. Yakov Barton
